Reframing Incidents of Racial Harm
Abha Aggarwal and Ruth England deliver this two-part training offers new ways of framing these issues which leads to new approaches in responses and issue/ incident management.
It is recommended that the two parts are delivered on different days to enable reflection and practice in between the sessions.
The training session covers either Primary (upper KS2) or Secondary (KS3, KS4).
- Part 1
- Understanding the experiences of, and impact on young people
- Exploring how young people navigate experiences and stereotypes
- Examining school approaches to incident/issue management (dismissive, punitive, corrective, restorative)
- Understanding trauma-informed responses through role playing scenarios
- Part 2

- Rethinking intent and impact
- Working towards restorative approaches for incident/issue management
- Addressing racial language amongst young people
- Wider school considerations and external support.
2 x 2.5-hour sessions, Maximum of 25 participants
