Our Picks – January 2024

  • Brick Lane 1978: The Turning Point is a new exhibition at Tower Hamlets Local History Library & Archives which shares the events in 1978, which were sparked by the racist murder of Altab Ali, a 24-year-old Bengali leather garments worker, and pays tribute to the activists who mobilised around the rallying cry of justice that followed.
  • Zaytoun is a social enterprise inspired by a love of Palestinian culture, communities and cuisine. They exist to support Palestinian farmers through fair trade – 100% of our profits are reinvested towards delivering this mission.
  • Do you have students aged 10 to 14 who love reading and enjoy sharing their knowledge with friends? The National Reading Champions Quiz is open for registration and takes place between 22 February – 25 March 2024.
