Our Picks – September

  • Lambeth Council is taking part in The World Reimagined,  project which is a UK art education project to transform how we understand the Transatlantic Slave Trade. The trails, which are now live, feature artist designed temporary globe trails in cities across the UK until the end of Black History Month on October 31.
  • Becoming a Fairtrade School means joining a worldwide movement – a movement where young people learn that, whatever their age, they have the power to make a difference in the world.
  • Brick Lane and its Bengali residents have for many years provided rich material for photographers. Yet the majority of what is publicly-accessible are images captured by outsiders looking in, rather than emerging from the experience of the people and communities actually living in the area. The Bengali Photography Archive will bring together a new collection of images celebrating Bengali community life in East London and surrounding boroughs, past and present.
