A New Chapter at Global Learning London

This month, we say goodbye and good luck to the brilliant Alia Alzougbi, who has been the Head of Global Learning London for a wonderful six and a half years. She’ll be very much missed but we’re excited to follow and celebrate Alia’s new journey.

We also welcome Faaria Ahmad to the helm! With over a decade of experience in the field, Faaria is no stranger to Global Learning London.  As a former associate of Global Learning London, Faaria has led on a host of our work including the Creative Communities Resource for Parents and Carers on active citizenship and most recently our Towards an Anti Racism Curriculum project for Tower Hamlet schools.

A little something from Faaria:
“My grandmother would always tell me of the time my dad went to school in a brand new shirt, and came home in an old tattered one. He had seen that his friend couldn’t afford a new shirt, and decided to do a swap. This story taught me that we all have a duty to create positive change with whatever we have – a skill, a platform, a story, a superpower or a brand new shirt.

And this is what global learning is all about.

We learn about and understand the world we live in, and we do our part in making it better. I’m excited to work with the incredible Global Learning London family to inspire hope and empower young people to take action for a just and sustainable world.”

We hope you’ll join us in giving Faaria a very warm welcome and look out  for all that is to come from the team at Global Learning London.
