Over the last few months, we’ve been working with five schools in Tower Hamlets to think about climate and their local community. Through a series of workshops with East London based Iraqi artist Alaa Alsaraaji, young people researched global climate issues and explored local climate solutions to these issues. They were guided through the world of design and illustration and learnt some key skills to help them present their topics and design double page spreads that came together in digital zines.

The schools that took part in Communities of Hope were Mulberry School for Girls, Canary Wharf College, George Green’s School, Stepney All Saints and Oaklands School. Our Communities of Hope project is a reality thanks to funding by Tower Hamlets Council’s Strategy and Communities Team.
