Our Picks – June 2025
- Refugee Week 2025 is running from 16–22 June, and celebrates the theme “Community as a Superpower”, celebrating the strength we find in kindness, connection, and solidarity. For educators and young people, it offers a powerful opportunity to explore compassion, belonging, and the experiences of refugees through creative activities, storytelling, and classroom resources. One way to get involved is #SimpleActs – everyday actions we can all do to stand with refugees and make new connections in our communities.
- Celebrate World Ocean Day at the National Maritime Museum with a family-friendly festival. This year’s event marks the grand reopening of Ocean Court, featuring a new giant floor map using the Spilhaus Projection, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of the world’s oceans.
- Just Like Us offers free LGBTQ+ educational resources for schools—including lesson plans, assemblies, and activities—to help create inclusive, supportive environments for all young people
