You, Me, Story!
Join us for this wonderful project, that promotes critical thinking around gender stereotypes through storytelling. We are looking for three KS3 classes in Tower Hamlets to participate in this exciting project, fully funded by Arts Council England.
The project will link in with learning on the Sustainable Development Goals. We believe in the power of storytelling and music in shaping the understanding towards a deeply sensory approach. In the process, children will be upskilled in storytelling and singing techniques.
Each participant will be part of:
- A creative workshop will be delivered by professional storytellers. The workshop will be interactive and use participatory techniques and activities.
- Tailored resources that focus on SDGs 3 (good health and wellbeing), 4 (quality education), 5 (gender equality) and 10 (reducing inequalities). The resources will be aimed at young people in KS3 and is accompanied by adult-level thinking, information and guidance for teachers to inform the knowledge- acquisition, activities and exercises for children.
- A CPD for teachers on how to use the resources. Focusing on developing their confidence in teaching about these issues with a holistic approach.
- Ongoing support
The project starts in February 2022 and ends in July 2022. Find out more here.
