Communities of Hope – A One Year Project for Primary Schools

We’re inviting 5 primary schools to join our exciting Communities of Hope project – a creative, climate-focused initiative designed to empower schools, educators, and pupils to take action and make a difference.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build leadership, spark creativity, and explore climate justice in a way that’s meaningful and age-appropriate for younger learners.

This project is aimed at Year 5 or Year 6 students.

This is a fully funded opportunity, offering the following:

  1. Schools and School Leadership
  • Climate Friendly Schools Audit – Get access to a simple, easy-to-use tool to help your school understand the positive steps you’re already taking – and where you can go next.
  • Leadership Training – Governors and senior leaders will receive training on climate change and how schools can take action – perfect for building a whole-school approach and sharing learning across your community.

  1. Educators
  • Educators Network – Be a part of a growing network of teachers passionate about climate justice and creative learning. This will be a professional development opportunity and there will be emphasis on one of the educators being a person of colour. The purpose of the network will be to support educators with their learning, practice and skills in embedding climate justice through creativity into the curriculum.
  • CPD Opportunities  – Includes inspiring sessions with partners like Bethnal Green Nature Reserve, with practical ideas for bringing the outdoors and climate topics into your curriculum.
  1. Young People
  • Creative Climate Workshop – GLL will offer an in-school session exploring climate in a creative way.
  • Showcase and Celebration – Students will have the opportunity to see the work created by Secondary Schools on the theme and attend an event at the Town Hall.

This project is perfect for schools looking to deepen their work around climate and creativity, with meaningful support for staff and exciting, enriching experiences for pupils.

Sign up here by 22nd July 2025. We will notify you in September 2025 of your place.
