Vibe Coding with UCL

The Recycling Lab is well underway, and KS3 students have been developing innovative solutions to encourage impactful recycling in Tower Hamlets.

Through a series of workshops, students from three classes from local Secondary Schools have been developing their understanding of waste management and designing responses through this creative STEM programme with UCL and Microsoft.

In a recent trip, the students learnt how to use a series of digital and design tools – including Vibe Coding, a practice that utilises AI software to help develop and prototype their designs and ideas – from UCL’s Computer Science students and tutors.

The result? A series of prototyped mini-games developed by each of the classes, designed to help Tower Hamlets residents grow their recycling habits. Read more about their day at UCL here.

In the coming months, students will get ready to pitch their ideas to a panel of UCL students and local Primary School students, where the winning design will be brought to life for Tower Hamlets Residents.
