CREATIVE COMMUNITIES: Developing Learner-led Active Citizenship Initiatives in Tower Hamlets

Complementing our Europe-wide @The Heart of Communities project is its inception, the Creative Communities project in Tower Hamlets, which continues in its third year.

Using the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework, our Creative Communities project places children at the heart of the action as they respond to their community’s needs through tried and test global citizenship approaches and methodologies. Our project invites children to free their imaginations in order to lead with practical action in responding to the crisis.

From engaging with mutual aid groups, to designing food bags with messages of resilience, to singing about hope to those most isolated, our children can make meaningful creative interventions as active citizens in their community.
