Moving into our 3rd year of Towards an Anti-Racist Curriculum

We have had a very busy September and things are certainly not slowing down for October either. Our Towards an Anti-Racist Curriculum (TARC) has been refined and developed over the last few years, by listening to our educators and anti-racist experts – this year is filled with more training opportunities, healing spaces for Global Majority educators and an ever-evolving padlet to support learning.

Last month, we had our first termly twilight with our Anti-Racist Educator Network which comprises of Project Leads from returning schools and new schools. These sessions allowed educators to discuss and identify their key priorities for this year – which ranged from bringing in diverse voices for assemblies to a staff audit to see how they are feeling about the anti-racist work already taking place in the school.

We’ve had a number of training sessions that have taken place too, including Reframing Incidents of Racial Harm, Facilitated Conversations for Cross-Racial Teams and Equipping SLT for Anti-Racism.

We always highlight to schools that this work is ongoing, and we need to ensure that we are consistently learning. To find out more about the programme, visit our website.
